Fact: John Ford Coley has had three imposters during his career. The first one occurred in 1969 and said he played keyboards for Southwest F.O.B., which was John's job. The second tried to get music equipment from a record store using John's name. The third one occurred in 1997, forging checks, playing gigs, and did radio and television. He was prosecuted and sent to jail for a year. Ironically, he stated that it all started with karaoke.

1999 "Rrrhadd" - Rock Has Beens Against Drugs - a short movie spoof on the casualties of music and drug use. Played "Jett".
1987 "Aces and Eights" played "Charlie." A short film featuring Doug McClure, Steve Railsback and others.
1989 "Dream A Little Dream" - performs as Ron, Actress Susan Blakely's boyfriend who spikes Meridith Salenger's drink and shoves Corie Feldman down some stairs.
1986 "Scenes From The Goldmine" - performs as drummer, Kenny Bond, alongside Timothy B. Schmidt (Eagles), Steve Railsback (Manson), Joe Pantiliano (Sopranos), Cathy Mary Stewart (Weekend at Burnie's).
Fact: "For Scenes From The Goldmine" John had to learn to play drums and play to tracks where there were mistakes.
